As expected Dhanush K Raja's Vada Chennai has dominated in its opening weekend at the Chennai box office. The gangster drama has beaten many biggies and turned out to be a huge money-spinner at the ticket windows not only in India but also in the international markets. Coming back to Chennai circuit, Vada Chennai has enjoyed the Dussehra weekend and with positive reviews, it has turned out to be audience's first choice.
On the second spot, we have Vishal's Sandakozhi 2, which has already emerged to be a big hit and is still raking in moolah at the domestic market. Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan's 96, which has entered in its fourth week continues to win the hearts at the box office. Despite being a romantic genre, which doesn't work much at the box office, the narrative and star performances has worked in favour of the film, which can be seen through its collections.
Thriller flick Ratsasan has turned out to be one of biggest surprise hits and is still busy registering collections at the ticket windows. Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra's Badhaai Ho has debuted at the fifth spot in Chennai. Despite being a strong content-driven film, the performed below the mark due to Vada Chennai's dominance.
