Touted as the most stylish film of this year, Dil Dhadakne Do starring Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Shefali, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Rahul Bose has released today. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, this eccentric family drama had created good buzz courtesy its promising trailer and of course the stellar star cast. While the film has garnered mixed reviews from the critics, DDD has opened well at the multiplexes in most metros. But Priyanka and Ranveer starrer hasn't fared that well in the single screens theatres. However, I am sure the film will pick up in the evening shows and also over the weekend as there is no other big release this week.
Trade portal Boxofficeindia reported, "Dil Dhadakne Do had a decent start of around 25-30% at multiplexes with the premium ones being better. The single screens as expected were not good at 15-20%. The film was released on around 2300 screens. The film will grow in the evenings as it caters to that audience."
The website further stated, "The opening day numbers will come out good in the major metros and a few other cities where there are a number of premium multiplexes but the crunch will come on Saturday as a lot will depend on how they grow. The smaller centres will not support much but if cities like Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Lucknow can support it will be a big plus for the film."
So now let's wait for the first day figures to come out. If they are in double digit then nothing like it, hai na?
