The film has managed to break quite a few box office records till now...
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's Dilwale continued its magical run at the box office as it added another Rs 8.79 crore on Day 6 (Wednesday) to take its total collection to Rs 93.39 crore. With a good occupancy, the film is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore today as it becomes the 6th 100 crore film of the year after ABCD 2, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
The film has sustained well even after a huge drop on Monday. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Dilwale Fri 21 cr, Sat 20.09 cr, Sun 24 cr, Mon 10.09 cr, Tue 9.42 cr, Wed 8.79 cr. Total: Rs 93.39 cr. India biz."
The film has performed well at the international box office, breaking records in UAE, Australia and UK. The film has broken record in East and South India. This will also be Varun Dhawan's second 100 crore film this year and Kajol and SRK's first 100 crore film. It has already become Kriti Sanon's highest grossing film.
And with no major release till January 8, Dilwale is all set to continue its steady run at the domestic and international box office. The film is also set to release in Lebanon this week (not many films release over there), giving a boost to the film. The film will have a strong weekend again, however, the next Monday will be the key day to gauge if it will sustain or not.
Dilwale may end the second weekend at Rs 120 crore if it continues to maintain the current occupancy and collections. However, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Bajirao Mastani pose a threat to the film. Star Wars has a huge fan base in India too and Bajirao Mastani has been catching up in the day-to-day collections during this week.
