The film maintains its steady momentum...
Dilwale opened all guns blazing, but throughout the first week the film has maintained an average occupancy and the collections were steady. While the film has performed very well at the international markets, Dilwale's momentum has been slipping after the first Sunday.
The film had seen a dip in the first week, however a growth on Thursday gave a hope for a better second weekend. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed earlier, "#Dilwale Fri 21 cr, Sat 20.09 cr, Sun 24 cr, Mon 10.09 cr, Tue 9.42 cr, Wed 8.79 cr, Thu 9.26 cr. Total: Rs 102.65 cr. India biz."
But there was no such leap on the weekend, as the film continued to dip till Saturday and while it showed a small growth on Sunday, there wasn't a spurt in growth that was expected from the film. As Taran Adarsh revealed today, "#Dilwale doesn't witness major spurt in biz, despite holidays. [Week 2] Fri 8.11 cr, Sat 6 cr, Sun 7.12 cr. Total: Rs 123.88 cr. India biz."
In fact, Bajirao Mastani has clawed back Dilwale's advantage and is all set to take over the lead by today or tomorrow. Dilwale had a second weekend collection of Rs 21.23 crore (Friday+Saturday+Sunday), compared to Bajirao Mastani's second weekend collection of Rs 34.30 crore. The percentage decline from the first weekend to the second weekend is also high for Dilwale, as Taran Adarsh revealed, "Decline in biz from 1ST WEEKEND to 2ND WEEKEND: #Dilwale 67.38%, #BajiraoMastani 26.66% India biz."
Dilwale has collected Rs 110.83 crore at the overseas market till now and broken several records abroad, but it has drawn a blank in India.
