Queen turned out to be the surprise hit of 2014 and this year its Dum Laga Ke Haisha which may achieve that feat...
Sharat Katariya's directorial venture Dum Laga Ke Haisha has continued to fare well at the box office. The romantic drama which released last month had got off to a slow start but Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ended up pulling in crowd to the cinema halls courtesy good word-of-mouth. In fact, the Yash Raj film has already collected Rs 21.20 crore at the domestic box office. Now that's an impressive figure as the film doesn't star any A-lister and not it was extensively promoted by the makers.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, "#DumLagaKeHaisha [Week 3] Fri 62 lacs. Grand total - 21.20 cr. HIT."
Trade portal Boxofficeindia reported, "The second weekend was better than the first but the second week came in a little lower than the first week with a 7-8% drop. There will be a drop in the third week as another multiplex film NH10 gives it competition but Dum Laga Ke Haisha will still hang around in the theatres for the next few weeks and finish at around the 30 crore nett mark."
