Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham's Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw has enjoyed a humongous opening weekend at the ticket windows. After taking a giant opening of Rs 13.75 crore, it gathered momentum on Saturday and Sunday and raked in Rs 42.90 crore in its first weekend. With this total, it has turned out to be the fourth highest opening weekend Hollywood grosser of 2019 after Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King and Spider-Man: Far From Home. The film also stars Eddy Marsan, Cliff Curtis and Eiza Gonzalez in key roles. WWE star Roman Reigns is also seen in one of the frames, playing the character of one of Rock's brothers.
It is directed by David Leitch, who previously helmed Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool 2. Neal H. Moritz will bankroll this film under his banner Original Film alongside Dwayne Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions partners, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, Statham and Chris Morgan for his eponymous production company.
