Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Ek Villain is now a part of the elite Rs 100 club. Directed by Mohit Suri, this film released on June 27 and since then has got cash registers jingling and how! On the first day itself, Ek Villain raked in Rs 16.72 crore. And by the end of the weekend the film had grossed Rs 50.70 crore. After getting off to a thunderous start, Suri's directorial venture has now collected Rs 101. 32 crore nett at the Indian box office. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, "#EkVillain [Week 2] Mon 2.50 cr, Tue 2.20 cr, Wed 2 cr, Thu 1.74 cr. Grand total -101.32 cr nett. India biz. BLOCKBUSTER." Sidharth and Shraddha first film together has impressed critics and audience alike which is evident from the box office figures, no?
But Ek Villain's success is even more special for Riteish coz he has delivered three 100 crore films in the last three years. Adarsh further tweeted, "And it's a hat-trick for Riteish Deshmukh in 100 cr Club: #Housefull2 in 2012, #GrandMasti in 2013 and now, #EkVillain in 2014." Well, that's a big achievement and we hope RD's success streak continues with his film Lai Bhaari - His first Marathi film which has hit the screens today.
