Balaji Telefilms steps into the fantasy genre and buys the rights to remake the Reena Roy-Jeetendra starrer Nagin
The season for remakes is back in Bollywood. Sajid Khan is making Himmatwala, while Rajat Rawail has bought the rights to the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kaalia. So how could the feisty TV and now movie czarina Ekta Kapoor hold back? Ekta’s Balaji Telefilms is entering magical territory now by remaking the Reena Roy-Jeetendra starrer Nagin.
The film goes on the floor next year, but the cast has not been yet been decided on. And, though Dad Jeetendra did create Bollywood dance history of sorts by performing some rather slippery moves in the original film, we don’t think that brother Tusshar Kapoor could replicate Papaji Jumping Jack's feat! Actually we hope he doesn't - not unless Ekta is planning to make a spoof! And as for replacing Reena Roy...dare we suggest Sonakshi Sinha? Wink wink! Anyway, we will keep you updated as Ekta’s Nagin takes shape, so keep watching this space!
