The comeback film of Pawan Kalyan, Vakeel Saab, which released yesterday at the box office, has taken a historic opening. Despite the pandemic crisis of coronavirus and without hiking the ticket prices, the courtroom drama has collected around Rs 42 crore (net Rs 36 crore) in the circuits of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Vakeel Saab is a non-commercial film and despite facing obstacles like online leak and some political issues, the courtroom drama has taken a bumper opening and the reason behind this is ultimate star power of Pawan Kalyan. Apart from big cities, the film has also managed to get footfalls from small pockets like Chirala, Macherla and others.
The film has beaten the collections of Agnyaathavasi, Katamaryudu and Sardaar Gabbar Singh to become the biggest opener of the Power Star. While Vakeel Saab has also garnered great reviews among the fans and critics, we are hoping that it continues to rake in moolah in the coming days. Jointly produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bay View Projects LLP, the film is the official remake of 2016 film Pink, which featured Amitabh Bachchan along with Taapsee Pannu, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Tushar Pandey, Piyush Mishra, and Dhritiman Chatterjee in pivotal roles.
Vakeel Saab is directed by Sriram Venu and also features Shruti Haasan, Prakash Raj, Nivetha Thomas, Anjali, Ananya Nagalla, Mukesh Rishi, Dev Gill, Subbaraju, Vamsi Krishna and Anasuya Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. The music of the film is composed by S Thaman and the cinematography is done by PS Vinod while the editing department is headed by Prawin Pudi.
