This Independence Day weekend has turned out to be profitable for the box office. Both Akshay Kumar's Gold and John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate have done good business at the ticket windows. Reema Kagti's Gold has made Rs 71.3 crore in India so far. The film took a humongous opening raking in Rs 25 crore in the opening day. Gold has been the actor's biggest opener so far. In the film, he plays the role of Tapan Saha, a hockey team manager who dreams that independent India should also win a medal in the Olympics. This was the Bollywood debut of Mouni Roy, who is known all over India as Naagin. The film also stars Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and Nikita Dutta.
Mouni is thrilled with the success of her debut flick. She told IANS, "I feel elated, excited and very happy with the audience response to the film. Our film has released only two days ago so we will get a clear picture of its box-office performance at the end of this week. Therefore, I don’t want to jinx things by getting over-excited. When it goes on to become successful, then I will be very happy and thankful for it." Stay tuned to BL for more scoop and updates!
