Sonakshi Sinha and Jassie Gill's Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, which arrived today has taken a slow start at the box office. The comedy caper has registered around 10 to 15 per cent occupancy in the morning shows pan India. Since the first part of the franchise Happy Bhag Jayegi, worked on the positive word of mouth and became a surprise hit, we expect a similar scenario from its sequel.
Since the film primarily targeted towards the multiplex audience, a substantial growth in its opening weekend is very crucial for the film. Talking about Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, the film is directed by Mudassar Aziz, who also helmed the first part. It also stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra in pivotal roles. The film is produced under the banners of Color Yellow Productions and Eros Now. The audience is giving a thumbs up to the movie and are specifically praising the performance of Jimmy Sheirgill, whose comic timing is bang on in the film.
It has also received decent reviews from the movie buffs. Our critic Moumita Bhattacharjee gave the film two-and-a-half-stars and wrote, "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has its moments but don’t expect it to be better than the original. Watch it if you want to laugh on ‘Ye saare ek jaise dikhte hai’ being said over and over again. After all, that’s India’s favourite racist joke!"
