The production team seems to be playing a major spoiler here...
Now we all know how Salman Khan's Sultan turned out to become an instant hit for it broke about 35 records within a few days of its release. From being declared as the biggest Eid opener, highest opening day of 2016 to being the highest collection on a Wednesday, highest opening day collection for a sports based film, highest opening day occupancy of 2016, there was no stopping for this all time blockbuster. Add to that, Sultan even made it to the Rs 1oo crore club in just three days and continued its gallant run without flinching. However, this sudden drop in its latest box office collections has got everyone really suspicious now! I mean, the film which managed to gross Rs 293.80 crore in its third week has still not been able to touch the Rs 300 crore mark despite having entered the fifth week - Now who will buy that?

Which explains why insiders now believe that it's the producers of Sultan who are trying hard to not let Sultan touch the Rs 300 crore mark. Yes! In interaction with DNA, a reliable source revealed the smart-ass strategy of Yash Raj Films saying, “Their deal is such that if the film crosses the 300 figure Salman would get a big chunk of partnership. When Adi approached Salman for Sultan, the star was quite clear he wanted the same deal as Aamir Khan (for Dhoom:3) and Shah Rukh Khan (for Fan) got — a 80-20 profit-sharing ratio. Adi had agreed because top stars like Aamir, SRK and Salman, rake in the big bucks. But showing lower figures means lesser profits for Salman. For Ek Tha Tiger, too, YRF stopped at the `199.6 crore-mark when everyone in the trade knew it had crossed the `200 cr-mark.’’

So now you know why Sultan is still dangling at Rs 299.74 crore? We worry if the film will further be forced to move out of the theatres before it collects the remaining Rs 26 lakhs.
