The film managed to close its first weekend with decent figures
Salman Khan is out with his latest production venture, Hero, which we know is a remake of the hit Subhash Ghai film by the same name. Directed by Nikhil Advani, Salman's Hero stars Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the lead opened to a great fan fare grossing in Rs 6.85 crores on Day 1 becoming the second highest grosser with debutants after Varun Dhawan - Alia Bhatt - Sidharth Malhotra's Student Of The Year which has brought in Rs 9.25 crore. Though the film witnesses a mild set back on Day 2 with a collection of Rs 6.62, it picked up pace on Sunday bringing in Rs 7.73 crore. This brings the total collection of the film to Rs 21.20 crore.
Trade analyst and expert, Taran Adarsh shared the figures on his Twitter account. He tweeted, "#Hero has a GOOD opening weekend, with biz stabilising on Sunday. Fri 6.85 cr, Sat 6.62 cr, Sun 7.73 cr. Total: Rs 21.20 cr. India biz."
The film is expected to maintain a decent run over the next weekend too. Though there is buzz that the film's collections might take a dip with the release of Kangana Ranaut - Imran Khan's Katti Batti, our trade expert, Akshay Rathi has confirmed that since the films cater altogether different audiences the chances of that happening are very remote. Incidentally, Katti Batti too is directed by Nikhil Advani, who seems to be in a win-win situation.
