After winning several hearts in India, Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar's Hindi Medium has officially released in China. And looks like it has taken an impressive opening. Released in a slightly lesser screen space than Dangal, Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan; Hindi Medium has already raked in $810K in China on day 1 through ticket sales. This means the film will easily cross the $1 million mark (Rs 6.50 crore) in no time. Isn't that huge? Talking about the collections, trade analyst and industry tracker - Ramesh Bala revealed on Twitter, "#HindiMedium is debuting at a strong No. 2 just behind #ReadyPlayerOne in morning/noon shows in #China. Nears $1 Million. Already $810,000 in ticket sales for the day."
Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar's film is a heartwarming tale of a couple from Delhi, who aspire to give their daughter the best education to be a part of and accepted by the elite of the city. But when their daughter fails to secure admission into the top school of Delhi, they pose as poor people to get her admission through the below poverty line quota. What follows is something that will surely entertain you. With such an interesting story line we are sure the Chinese audience will love Hindi Medium. But can it compete with the likes of Dangal and Secret Superstar or even Bajrangi Bhaijaan? Well its something to wait and watch.
