Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar's Hindi Medium continues its phenomenal run at the Chinese box office. The social drama continues to attract the audience with its emotional and relevant content. The film raked in Rs 7 crore on its eighth day and now stands with the grand total of Rs 162 crore. The film's story revolves around a couple who want to give their daughter the best education so that she will be accepted by the elite.

After Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan this is the third Bollywood film which has released in China in 2018. Talking about film’s success in producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Whether it is the success of ‘Hindi Medium’ in China or ‘Raid’ doing such phenomenal business here, it only reinforces our belief that a good story is what connects with the audience. For us, the key decisions have been to pick stories that have a universal appeal. These are the fruits of those decisions and we are overwhelmed.” Hindi Medium has now crossed the Rs 260 crore mark at the global box office.
Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Sada Qamar, Deepak Dobriyal, Dishita Sehgal, Tillotama Shome and Amrita Singh in pivotal roles. Hindi Medium is directed by Saket Chaudhary, who previously helmed films like Shaadi Ke Side Effects and Pyaar Ke Side Effects. Before the release, when Saket was that whether Hindi Medium will be able to do better business than Aamir’s films? He replied, “I think all of us owe Aamir Khan for showing an initiative and vision in taking Hindi cinema to a new and large audience. Without ‘Dangal’, the Chinese audience may not have been familiar with the new Hindi cinema emerging here that blends entertainment with strong social themes.”
