Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium all set to enter the Rs 200 crore club today at the Chinese box office. The school drama currently stands with the grand total of Rs 199 crore at the ticket windows. For a reasonably budgeted film, which was made in just Rs 21 crore including promotion and advertising, the collections are superbly amazing. The film has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark globally and has beaten the business of Bollywood biggies like Dabangg 2, Raees and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
After Secret Superstar and Bajrangi Bhaijaan this is the third Bollywood film which has released in China in 2018. Talking about film’s success producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Whether it is the success of ‘Hindi Medium’ in China or ‘Raid’ doing such phenomenal business here, it only reinforces our belief that a good story is what connects with the audience. For us, the key decisions have been to pick stories that have a universal appeal. These are the fruits of those decisions and we are overwhelmed.”
The film’s story revolves around a couple who want to give their daughter the best education so that she will be accepted by the elite. Apart from the lead cast, the film also stars Deepak Dobriyal and Tilottama Shome in pivotal roles. Lead actor Irrfan Khan was honoured with Filmfare Best Actor Award for his extraordinary portrayal in the film. Anyway do you guys think the film will enter the Rs 250 crore club in China?
