The Housefull 2 actor has been signed on to endorse a popular motorcycle brand
It seems that Akshay Kumar’s fortunes have changed thanks to Sajid Khan’s Housefull 2 becoming the third big blockbuster of the year. Though the critics unanimously panned the film, it has crossed the Rs. 100cr mark and in Bollywood, nothing succeeds like success. It also helped that Akki’s next, Rowdy Rathore looks promising, as it is in the same zone as Salman Khan’s Wanted.
This positive buzz around Khiladi Kumar has prompted a popular motorcycle brand to sign him on as a brand ambassador. It has been reported that Akshay would get Rs 50 crore for 5 years and our sources say that he stands to make about Rs 9.5 crore per annum. This is almost at par with what the Khans charge, if not more.
We wonder if there is a clause in the endorsement deal which enables the brand to re-negotiate the mammoth figure, as the next few films of the Desi Boyz actor don’t look like potential blockbusters. If you’ve read the leaked story of Joker on our site, you would know what we mean. Out of all the films on his platter presently, only the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai might hit gold at the BO. Do you think Akshay is worth Rs 50 crore?
