Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 has emerged one of the highest-grossers of 2017. After receiving a thunderous response in its opening week, the romantic comedy witnessed a noticeable drop in its second week. Despite facing a huge dip on Monday, Judwaa 2 managed to remain stable on Tuesday and raked in around Rs 2-2.50 crore at the box office. The film now stands with the grand total of Rs 121.59 crore. Since Saif Ali Khan-starrer Chef has turned out to be a disaster and there is no big release in the coming week, Judwaa 2 will enjoy a free run at the box office.
Judwaa 2, which is the official remake of Salman Khan's 1997 hit film Judwaa, tells the story of twin brothers who were separated in their childhood and reunite in the end. The film had grabbed great amount buzz, thanks to its thumping music and massy appeal. The success of Judwaa 2 proves that if massy entertainers are made well, they will definitely attract the audience to the theaters. Looking at the current scenario, the film might end its theatrical run between Rs 130-150 crore. Judwaa 2 has already become Varun Dhawan's highest-grosser, surpassing the lifetime business of Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which collected Rs 116.60 crore in its theatrical run.
