Junglee revolves around a veterinary doctor, who upon returning to his father's elephant reserve encounters and fights an international poacher racket. Talking about preparations to play his character in Junglee, Jammwal said, "As it is a really different film, I had to prepare differently. This film is primarily based on forest animals. We had to live in forest and eat whatever was available there. When you do such films, you need to prepare mentally for these things." Despite getting mixed reviews from the cinegoers, Junglee is performing well at the box office due to its mass-appealing content. Our critic, Urmimala Banerjee gave the film 1.5 stars and wrote, "The film does not have a story as such and the dialogues are quite pedestrian. However, that is not the main problem. When you have an action star like Vidyut Jammwal with you, the fights have to be better. We have seen him do miracles with his body in the Commando series and Junglee is sorely disappointing on this front."
