After becoming the biggest opener of the year, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer Kalank witnessed a massive dip yesterday at the box office. As per the early estimates, the film raked in Rs 10.50 crore and now stands with the grand total of Rs 32 crore. The drop was expected as it was a normal working day but the film will again cover the lost ground as there is a partial holiday today (Good Friday). Such kind of drastic dip was seen last time with Akshay Kumar's Gold, which had collected over Rs 25 crore on its first day (August 15) and on the next day it just raked in around Rs 8 crore.

With 3 days remaining in hand, we expect Kalank to at least earn around Rs 85 crore in its extended opening weekend. The collections of the film has also been affected due to mixed word of mouth among the audience. Talking about the reviews, our critic Urmimala Banerjee gave the film three stars and wrote, "Kalank is a fabulously mounted film with great performances. If you can overlook the length, it will be a good watch. This has to be one of Varun Dhawan's best."

Produced under the banners of Dharma Productions, Nadiadwala and Grandson and Fox Star Studios, the film is directed by Abhishek Varman, who previously helmed Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's 2 States. Kalank also stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Kunal Kemmu and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Varun will be next seen in Remo D'Souza's Street Dancer 3D. The film also stars Prabhudheva, Nora Fatehi, Sonam Bajwa, Shakti Mohan, Vartika Jha, Dharmesh Yelande, Punit Pathak and Raghav Juyal in key roles. The film will be shot in 3D and converted to 4DX later. It is scheduled to release on November 8. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt will feature in Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra, the film is scheduled for a December release and is helmed by Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani helmer Ayan Mukerji.
