The Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty-starrer, Hero, released this Friday and has done pretty well over the weekend. Directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Salman Khan, the film has had a good pan-India occupancy throughout the weekend and it is expected to get stronger through the week as the word of mouth publicity gains momentum. But with Nikhil's next, Katti Batti, starring one of the current hottest star - Kangana Ranaut releasing this Friday, many feel that Hero will be affected by the film's release.
However, our trade expert doesn't feel Hero will be affected by Katti Batti. As Exhibitor and Distributor, Akshaye Rathi suggests, "I don’t think Katti Batti will affect Hero, even on a minuscule scale. The people who will be interested in Katti Batti, won’t be interested in Hero and vice-versa. Katti Batti is essentially a multiplex-friendly rom-com, while Hero is a single screen friendly action film. Plus, Katti Batti is not being released in Tier II & III cities initially, it will be released there a week or two later. UTV are targeting the multiplexes hardcore and they are tapping into the single screens into significantly big cities. So, these two films have diverse audience bases and hence they won’t affect one another."
Though, some fans have been disappointed by Hero and it's screenplay, people have loved Sooraj and Athiya's acting and chemistry. So, it will not be surprising to see that people still go, watch the film and the film continues its good run at the box office.
