Since there no biggies in the last weekend, Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde starrer Maharshi continued its dominance at the ticket windows. In just 11 days, the film has crossed the business of Venkatesh Daggubati, Varun Tej, Tamannaah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada's F2: Fun and Frustration to become the highest Telugu grosser of the year at the global box office.
It collected the worldwide share of Rs 85 crore globally and has become Mahesh Babu's third film to achieve this feat after Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu. Talking about this political drama, it is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and also stars Allari Naresh in a key role.
Despite getting a huge thumbs up from the cinegoers, the film has received mixed reviews from the critics. Our critic Gautham Pattikonda, gave the film two stars and wrote, "Mahesh Babu's Maharshi is like a sunny side up and it is tough to decide which side is better. With all the hype the film had ahead of release, fans would certainly find it disappointing."
