Marvel's Black Panther has been unstoppable at the box office across the world. Be it the American, Indian or UK market, the superhero movie has been breaking records left, right and centre. However it is at the Chinese box office, where Black Panther is killing it. The movie was released on March 09 in China and over the first weekend itself, the movie has raked in $67 million, according to the latest report in The Hollywood Reporter. Not only is this a huge amount, but you will be surprised to know that it also commanded more than 55 per cent market share in the country.
Many of you will be surprised by Black Panther's fantastic opening at the China box office, but let us tell you that superhero films have always been loved by the audience and hence, they rake in tons of money at the Chinese market. The hype around the film, the engaging content and stunning screenplay also helped it develop a fantastic word of mouth publicity. With no other big film in the Chinese market, we are sure Black Panther will continue raking in the moolah and cross the $100 million mark in a couple of days. But how much can it earn in its lifetime run at the China box office? That is something to wait and watch.
