After breaking several records at the American box office over the first weekend, Black Panther continued its blockbuster run at the US ticket window. The movie raked in another $40.15 million to take its overall 4-day American box office tally to $242.15 million. With that, Black Panther has now registered the all time second highest 4-day box office collection in America. If you check the four day tally of all the films released till date, you will realise what we are talking about. Star Wars: The Force Awakens leads the way with a 4-day box office collection of $288.10 million. Black Panther ($242.15 million) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($241.75 million) complete the top three.
For those of you who don't know, Black Panther is Marvel's first black standalone superhero film. The movie, which revolves around the events that take place after T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns to take over the throne of Wakanda, has been well received. People have loved the stunning visuals, the near perfect execution, the fantastic screenplay and the stellar acts. They have been raving about it on social media and this has given rise to a tremendous word of mouth publicity. This has surely benefitted the film in growing and sustaining at the American box office. And with a free run at the ticket window, we are sure Black Panther will continue raking in the moolah over the first week. Black Panther has impressed the critics too, so much so that it has become Marvel's best reviewed film till date.
