Latest Malayalam venture, Lucifer has turned to be one of the biggest hits at the box office. Apart from shattering records in the domestic market, the film has set new benchmarks in the markets of UK, Australia and New Zealand and turned out to be the highest Malayalam grosser. Lucifer has now entered the Rs 150 crore club at the global box office and is now on its way to become the Malayalam grossing film of all-time.
Directed by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film also stars Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran and Murali Gopy in key roles. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi made his Malayalam debut with Lucifer and has impressed everyone with his amazing act as the lead antagonist. The film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office in just eight days, making it one of the fastest Malayalam entrant in the elite club.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from the critics, Lucifer has impressed the audience, which is evident in the humongous box office figures. In Lucifer, Mohanlal plays a character called Stephen Nedumpally. After wrapping up the film, Prithviraj had thanked Mohanlal with an emotional note, which read, "Directing you has been the absolute highlight of my career regardless of how many ever films I director even if I'll never direct again."
