The film has had a good run at the international box office...
After Bang Bang's debacle, everyone expected Hrithik Roshan to come back with a bang! However, that didn't happen. His latest release - Mohenjo Daro was one of the most anticipated films of 2016, but it sadly couldn't meet the audience's expectations. Mohenjo Daro didn't appeal to people in India, however looks like the International audience has liked the film. Over the first week, Hrithik Roshan's film has collected Rs 24.13 crore (gross) at the overseas market.
As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed about the collections through his recent tweet, "#MohenjoDaro has fared better internationally... Week 1 expected to close at $ 3.6 million [Rs 24.13 cr]... Best in UAE-GCC and Pakistan."
Meanwhile, at the domestic market Mohenjo Daro has collected Rs 51.18 crore nett (Rs 73.18 crore gross approximately) in 7 days. As Taran Adarsh mentioned in his tweet, "#MohenjoDaro Fri 8.87 cr, Sat 9.60 cr, Sun 12.08 cr, Mon 10.27 cr, Tue 3.16 cr, Wed 2.96 cr, Thu 4.24 cr. Total: Rs 51.18 cr. India biz."
If we add the gross collections of both the overseas as well as domestic markets, we see that the film has collected Rs 97.31 crore (gross) over the first week. This means by the end of today, Mohenjo Daro will have crossed the Rs 100 mark! This is a good sign considering the fact that Mohenjo Daro is actually going to face losses. As trade analyst Komal Nahta mentioned to us EXCLUSIVELY, "It (Mohenjo Daro) will be another Bombay Velvet." And we know what happened with Bombay Velvet, right?
Mohenjo Daro's clash with Akshay Kumar's Rustom has affected the film very adversely. The latter not only had a better buzz before its release, but post the release, Rustom was more loved by the audience and the critics. In the meanwhile, both the films will continue to have a good run at the box office as no big film has released this week! Till then check out what people had to say about Mohenjo Daro in the video right here:
