Director Anurag Kashyap's Mukkabaaz continued to remain rock-steady in its second steady, in fact, there is hardly any drop in the collections compared to its first week business at the box office. The sports drama raked in Rs 90 lakhs on its second Sunday and currently stands with the grand total of Rs 8.87 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collections on his Twitter account, "#Mukkabaaz [Week 2] Fri 47 lakhs, Sat 77 lakhs, Sun 90 lakhs. Total: ₹ 8.87 cr"
Produced by popular filmmaker Aanand L Rai, the film stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Sheirgill in pivotal roles. The film received positive reviews from the critics, especially for the direction and star performances. Since the film is made in the modest budget, it is expected to recover its investment through its theatrical run itself. Before the release, the film was screened in many international film festivals and even got a standing ovation at the MAMI festival. Looking at the current scenario, we are expecting this film to achieve the Rs 10 crore mark at the box office.
Despite facing stiff competition from Kaalakaandi and 1921 apart from Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, Mukkabaaz has managed to strike the chord with its target audience. Since Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat is hitting the screens this Thursday (January 25), Mukkabaaz will lose out maximum amount of its screens. Looking at the collections, we are expecting the film to remain rock-steady in the weekdays at the box office. Anyways, Did you watch Mukkabaaz? What is your review on that?
