The film continues to perform well at the domestic box office...
Sonam Kapoor's Neerja started off well at the domestic box office and has sustained very well even after the second weekend. In week two, the film earned Rs 3.15 crore on Friday, Rs 5 crore on Saturday, Rs 6.65 crore on Sunday and Rs 2.12 crore on Monday, to take its total collection to Rs 52.24 crore in 11 days. Though the film saw a sharp drop on Monday, the film is running in 900 screens and with no competition during this week as well, Neerja is set to continue a good run at the box office.
Trade anlayst Taran Adarsh mentioned in his tweet, "#Neerja maintains tight grip. Passes 'Mon test' in Week 2 as well: Fri 3.15 cr, Sat 5 cr, Sun 6.65 cr, Mon 2.12 cr. Total: ₹ 52.24 cr. WOW!"
The film crossed Rs 50 crore quite easily by Sunday but reaching Rs 75 crore is difficult. This weekend, Neerja may get affected as Priyanka Chopra's Jai Gangaajal and Vicky Kaushal-Sarah Jane Dias' Zubaan will hit theatres. However, this film will change Sonam Kapoor's career as an actress. As exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi revealed to us, "In terms of the ability of drawing in the audience and win acclaim as a solo actress, Neerja will certainly change things around for her. The turn around started subtly after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, but Neerja is the career changing film, that will change tracks for her and will turn things around for her."
