After showing a decent growth over the second weekend, Varun Dhawan's October witnessed a noticeable drop yesterday at the box office. The drama film raked in Rs 1 crore on its second Monday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 40.33 crore. Looking at the current trend, we are expecting the film to earn around Rs 45 crore by the end of its second week at the ticket windows.
The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar, who previously helmed films like Piku, Vicky Donor and Madras Cafe. The film is written by Juhi Chaturvedi and presented under the banner of Rising Sun Films. Since Avengers: Infinity War is arriving this Friday, October will face a huge screen crunch at the box office. Apart from Varun, the film also features debutant Banita Sandhu and Gitanjali Rao in key roles. Despite being a niche film, it performed well at the box office due to its solid direction and exemplary performances.

October is a very special film for Varun and he has said this many times during the promotion. During the screening on its opening day, the actor said, “October comes from an extremely special place from my heart because as my career forwarded, I just felt that I started becoming more selfish and I wanted to do a selfless character like Dan.” The film received positive reviews from all the critics.
