Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer October ended its second week on a decent note at the box office. The slice-of-life romantic drama has managed to hold well and collected Rs 42.50 crore in 14 days at the ticket windows. By looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to cross Rs 45 crore mark by the end of its third week. Despite belonging to a niche genre, October has turned out to be a profitable venture for its makers thanks to its tight budget, smart marketing and pre-release deals.
October is directed by Shoojit Sircar, who previously helmed films like Piku, Vicky Donor, Yahaan and Madras Cafe. The story of the film revolves around Dan, who is on a quest to find Shiuli, a girl who was in love with him during college days. The film is written by Juhi Chaturvedi and presented under the banner of Rising Sun Films. Since Avengers: Infinity War, which released today has opened to a thunderous response, it'll be interesting to see how October performs at the ticket windows.
October is a very special film for Varun and he has said this many times during the promotion. During the screening on its opening day, the actor said, “October comes from an extremely special place from my heart because as my career forwarded, I just felt that I started becoming more selfish and I wanted to do a selfless character like Dan.” Anyway, did you guys liked the film?
