Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu's October might have started off slowly at the box office on day 1, but the film won several hearts and had a decent run over the first weekend. And after passing the Monday litmus test, October has remained rock steady at the box office on day 5, raking in Rs 2.61 crore in the process. With that the overall box office tally of the film now stands at Rs 25.56 crore. Talking about the current trends and collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on Twitter, "#October is ROCK-STEADY. Metros/plexes are consistently contributing to the revenue. Fri Rs 5.04 crore, Sat Rs 7.47 crore, Sun Rs 7.74 crore, Mon Rs 2.70 crore, Tue Rs 2.61 crore. Total: Rs 25.56 crore. India biz."
Considering that the film has a niche subject, it was released in a limited screen space and with the Indian T20 Tournament going on, October has performed very well. All this has been possible courtesy the film's content. The heartwarming story about unconditional love has pulled the heartstrings of many. From critics to the audience, everyone has been raving about the movie. With such a tremendous word of mouth publicity, people were compelled to watch the movie, which in turn helped the movie grow in terms of footfalls as well as collections. Looking at the current trends, October can easily earn Rs 30 - 40 crore in its lifetime run at the domestic box office. But can it touch the Rs 50 crore mark? Well that's something we will have to wait and watch! Made on a tight budget, we guess October is already in profits courtesy the decent box office collections and the fantastic pre - release marketing deals.
