Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu's October has set the cash registers ringing since it released on April 13. The movie might not have set the box office on fire, but it has been raking in the moolah slowly and steadily over the first week. On day 7 too, the film remained steady as it raked in Rs 2.25 crore at the ticket window. With that, October has a decent total of Rs 30.24 crore in its kitty at the end of the opening week. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed to us on Twitter, "#October is DECENT in Week 1. Biz was driven by multiplexes of major metros specifically. Weekend 2 is crucial, will give an idea of its lifetime biz. Fri Rs 5.04 crore, Sat Rs 7.47 crore, Sun Rs 7.74 crore, Mon Rs 2.70 crore, Tue Rs 2.61 crore, Wed Rs 2.43 crore, Thu Rs 2.25 crore. Total: Rs 30.24 crore. India biz."
Though this is not a huge number, October has performed well considering the fact that the film has a niche subject and was released in a limited screen space. All this has been possible courtesy its strong content. The heartwarming story line backed by some phenomenal performances pulled the audience's heartstrings. The movie goers as well as the critics raved about the Shoojit Sircar directorial, compelling people to go and watch it. With that the film saw a growth in terms of footfalls and collections, thereby helping October rake in such a huge amount at the domestic box office! In the meantime, with Ishaan Khatter's Beyond The Clouds and Abhay Deol - Patralekhaa's Nanu Ki Jaanu releasing today (April 20), October's collections will take a hit. However, it will still have decent second weekend and earn Rs 35 - 40 crore in its lifetime run at the domestic box office. Anyway, what did you guys think about the movie?
