The opening day figures of Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur's OK Jaanu are here but unfortunately the film seems to be off to really slow start. I mean, despite spreading so much love with endearing songs/ promos, OK Jaanu has only managed to gross a sum of Rs 4.08 crore on day 1. Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh just tweeted the box office figures stating, "OkJaanu Fri ₹ 4.08 cr. India biz." Probably the film will pick up over this weekend considering word of mouth and also the fact it's a remake of Mani Ratnam's hit classic, OK Kanmani. But with the first day figures dangling at at 4 crore mark, we really worry OK Jaanu's box office fate. Do you think it'll manage to cash in over the weekend? While OK Jaanu is yet to pass the audience test. Critics however have already passed their verdict by giving out mix reviews. Those who have watched the original Tamil film OK Kanmani feel OK Jaanu has nothing new to offer and that director Shaad Ali holds no credibility of adding any new creative elements in the film. Whereas the one's who are watching OK Jaanu as a fresh take believe Shraddha and Aditya have done a decent job and their chemistry is heart-winning. In fact, BollywoodLife's in house movie critic too felt Shraddha and Aditya's chemistry is a pure delight to watch.
The trade had predicted OK Jaanu will make at least about Rs 8-10 crore on the first day considering people have been longing to see Shraddha and Aditya- who for all that we know have returned on the big screen after 4 years(Last hit being Aashiqui 2). But with the audience disappointing on the opening day, we wonder how is the film going to fair in the coming days. Not to mention, Deepika Padukone's xXx: Return Of Xander Cage too has hit the screens today, which is only going to make things worse for OK Jaanu.
