Akshay Kumar's Pad Man is somehow managing to survive well in its third weekend at the box office. The biographical social drama raked in Rs 1 crore on its third Sunday and now stands with grand business of Rs 78.95 crore. By looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to earn around Rs 81 - 82 crore by the end of its third week at the ticket window.

Apart from Akki, the film also stars Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor with a cameo of megastar Amitabh Bachchan. The film is directed by R Balki, who previously helmed films like Paa, Cheeni Kum, Ki and Ka and Shamitabh. Despite having the star-power, the film has performed way below expectations at the box office due to its unconventional plot and subject. In fact, holdover release Padmaavat is performing better than Pad Man at the ticket window, which has very less screens.

Talking about the film, it is based on the life of Tamil Nadu-based social activist, Arunachalam Muruganantham. Akshay Kumar portrays the central role in the film, who finds a way to make cheap, affordable sanitary napkins for the women in his village. The film is co-produced by Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna under her banner Mrs Funnybones Movies. The film has managed to perform decently well in the multiplexes and metro cities but in tier 2 and tier 3 centres, the collections are way below the mark. Honestly, the collections are not that bad but for an Akshay Kumar film, with a good budget, we can say that it failed to fulfil the expectations.
