Padmaavat box office day 52: The period film beats lifetime collection of Salman Khan's Sultan, earns Rs 301 crores

Padmaavat replaces Sultan at the All Time Box Office Hits list.

Well, this had to happen soon enough. Trade experts were already excited and predicting this. Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor's Padmaavat beat Salman Khan - Anushka Sharma's Sultan's lifetime collections at the box office. The film has earned a total of Rs 301 crores at the box office whereas Sultan made Rs 300.45 crores at the box office. Padmaavat replaces Sultan at the sixth position in the All Time Box Office Hits list in just 52 days. Despite all the negative publicity and controversy around the film, it managed to break records. The cast should definitely celebrate after achieving this milestone. Ranveer is super happy that the film has done so well. He said in a statement the other day, "Padmaavat is a historic film for our country. I’m overwhelmed and extremely happy that the film has received this much love from audiences not just in India, but also the world over. It is a film that is and will always be extremely close to my heart and with it becoming my first ever Rs 300 crore film, the memory of Padmaavat will be that much more special." He even thanked Sanjay Leela Bhansali for creating such a masterpiece that he got to work in. He said, "This success is for all of us to cherish and remember that as artistes, we need to stand by our vision, our craft." Ranveer posted the making video of Padmaavat's Binte Dil yesterday and had us in awe of him. The actor has already started shooting for his next film, Gully Boys, with Alia Bhatt. Ranveer's performance as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat was loved by the critics. It was, till date, one of his best performances. We still can't get over how amazing he was in the film.
