Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma’s alien movie has done fairly good in the first two days, but more was expected
Apparently, reports claim that the movie has not done as expected in the massy areas up in the north. It seems the extreme weather played spoilsport for Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan’s PK. In two days the movie collected about Rs 8.47 crore in Mumbai and Rs 4.92 crore in Delhi and UP.
The updated collection suggests that PK has seen a drop of 20% in Rajasthan, 45% in Gujarat and 15% in NCR. However, due to word of mouth the numbers are expected to pick up by late evening and tomorrow (Sunday). The distributors are hoping for a 15% jump, but anything more than that will be a bonus. PK made about Rs 2.02 crore in Mysore, Rs 1.49 crore West Bengal, Rs 51 lakhs in Bihar, Rs 32 lakhs in Assam, Rs 39 lakhs in Orissa, Rs 32 lakhs Tamilnadu and Rs 30 lakhs in Kerala.
Wethinks a lot of the drop in the collection has to do the exorbitant prices and lack of shows in the single screen. Keeping the masses away may just have cost the producers popularity and final collection.
However, we are hoping with such brilliant performances, the outcome at the box office will also change by Sunday. Stay tuned to this space for the next update on PK’s box office collection.
