Despite the dominance of John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer Parmanu, Alia Bhatt's Raazi has managed to hold well in its third week at the ticket windows. The period-spy thriller raked in Rs 1.82 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 104.32 crore. Looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to end its theatrical run around Rs 110 crore.
Since two Bollywood releases, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero and Veere Di Wedding are arriving this Friday, Raazi will face a huge screen crunch at the box office. The film is currently the fourth highest grosser of the year after Padmaavat, Baaghi 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. By the end of its third week, Raazi will surpass SKTKS to grab the third spot in the list. Raazi has turned out to be Vicky Kaushal's first Rs 100 crore film, while this feat is achieved by Alia previously in films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and 2 States. Interestingly all three movies are produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions.
Raazi is directed by Meghna Gulzar, who previously helmed films like Talvar, Just Married and Filhaal. It also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajit Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Amruta Khanvilkar and Shishir Sharma in pivotal roles. Based on Harinder Sikka's book Calling Sehmat, the story of the film Raazi revolves around a young Kashmiri girl who gets married to a Pakistani Army officer and becomes a spy to give inside information about the neighbouring country to protect her own.
