Director Amar Kaushik's Stree continued its splendid run at the global box office. The horror comedy, which is made on a small budget is setting benchmarks not only in the domestic market but also in the international circuits. Till now, the film has grossed Rs 150.07 crore (nett Rs 120.06 crore) in India and Rs 12 crore at the overseas box office. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 162.07 crore.
In the domestic circuit, the film has already beaten biggies like Raid, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Veere Di Wedding, Gold and Satyameva Jayate. It is currently the sixth highest grosser of the year after Sanju, Padmaavat, Race 3, Baaghi 2 and Raazi.
Made on the budget of Rs 20 crore, it had recovered its investment before the release through satellite, digital and music rights. Written by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, who are known for helming films Go Goa Gone, Happy Ending and Shor In The City. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in pivotal roles.
