Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree has turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. The horror comedy has earned Rs 112.67 crore in three weeks, which is humongous considering its budget and star cast. In fact, the film has beaten the lifetime business of Varun Dhawan's ABCD 2 (Rs 108 crore) and Ek Villain (Rs 106 crore). Interestingly, both the films stars Shraddha Kapoor in pivotal roles. So, that means Stree has turned out to be the biggest hit of Rajkummar and Shraddha's career till date.
Made on the budget of Rs 20 crore, it had recovered its investment before the release through satellite, digital and music rights. Apparently, Shraddha's Batti Gul Meter Chalu has released today and it will be interesting to see whether, Stree success will help this social drama to get a good opening at the box office or not.
Producer of the film Dinesh Vijan, revealed about the sequel of Stree and the abrupt climax in an exclusive chat with us and said, "It teases them, a little bit. The whole idea is that of a franchise. It's setting up the second part. The sequel will answer all the questions. I understand the grouse, but it was intentional. We will make it up to you in the second one. Generally what happens in India is when a film works, you plan a sequel or a prequel. This was set up as that! I am happy that there is a bit of a grouse there because it's intentional. You will come back to see if everything is answered correctly. The idea is to leave questions in your mind."
