Ali Abbas Zafar's directorial venture Bharat took a grand opening at the box office and collected Rs 42.30 crore on its first. While the film emerged as the biggest opener for the megastar Salman Khan, it failed to beat the collections of Hollywood superhero film Avengers: Endgame (Rs 53.10 crore) to become the biggest opener of the year.

While the film has failed to beat the opening day figures of Avengers: Endgame, it will surpass the opening weekend business of the MCU film as it has the extended weekend of 5 days.
Talking about Bharat, it is an official adaption of a Korean film, Ode To My Father. The film showcases Salman Khan in 5 different avatars from 18 to 72 years. Bharat also stars Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi and Aasif Sheikh in key roles. It marks the third collaboration between director Ali Abbas Zafar and Salman Khan after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Produced by Atul Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar, the film is released in 4700 screens in India.
