Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim starrer Secret Superstar has performed decently well in its extended opening weekend at the box office. After opening with an average note on Thursday, the musical drama showed good growth on Friday and maintained its pace well on Saturday and Sunday. It now stands with the total business of Rs 31.31 crores. Since the film has a limited audience, these collections are very good. Popular trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted the day-wise breakdown of the business, "#SecretSuperstar Thu 4.80 cr, Fri 9.30 cr, Sat 8.71 cr, Sun 8.50 cr. Total: ₹ 31.31 cr. India biz.".
The film has remained strong in the multiplexes and metro cities. Secret Superstar has received rave reviews from the critics and audiences which will ensure the film to remain stable in the weekdays. With more than 1700 screens in its kitty, Secret Superstar will continue to rake decent moolahs at the box office. It is expected to cross the Rs 40 crore mark by the end of its opening week.
Directed by debutante Advait Chandan, the film revolves around the story of a young Muslim girl from a conservative family named Insia, the girl aspires to be a singer but faces restriction from her father. She incidentally crosses the path with music director Shakti Kumar, who helps to achieve her dreams.
