The film received a great opening on Thursday and raked on Rs 13.10 cr. But collections dropped on Friday. Read on!
Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Shaandaar received a thunderous response on its opening day. Though the venture has received mixed responses from film critics, its fist day box office collection surely spoke otherwise. The film released on October 22, and on Thursday, Shaandaar's occupancy rate was 35 percent and it performed well in Delhi, as well as Mumbai and Pune regions. BO reports suggested that the venture received a higher occupancy rate than that of Akshay Kumar's Singh Is Bliing and managed to collect a whopping 13.10 crores on day 1! Looking at the opening day collections of the film, it was expected that Shaandaar would only rise, there on and would rake in more moolah on Friday. But that's not the case. Shahid and Alia's rom com has received a major dip on day two, collecting Rs 7.55 crore on Friday.
By collecting Rs 13.10 crore on Thursday and 7.55 crore on Friday, Shaandaar has raked in Rs 20.65 crore in two days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the collections, check it out below:
The day one collections of Shaandaar had beaten the records of Tanu Weds Manu Returns(8.85 cr), Baby( 9.3 crore) and Badlapur (7.0 cr) respectively. We guess it's the weak word of mouth that affected the day two collections of the film.
Will Shandaar's collections see a hike during the weekend or is it going to be a downhill trip for this venture, here on? Let us wait and watch. Stay tuned for all the box office updates on Alia and Shahid's latest release!
