Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal's Rock On 2 is releasing this Friday and while everyone was excited to see the film, a roadblock came up last night. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced last night that the current Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes will be discontinued from today. This move was taken to curb black money, money laundering, counterfeit currency and corruption. While a majority of people supported and appreciated the move, there was a slight issue. Banks remained closed today and except for hospitals, petrol pumps, medical stores and airports, no one would accept the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. All the industries were hit as Rs 500 was the most circulated currency note. During such a testing time, it was feared that Bollywood films would be affected too as people with theses higher denomination currency notes would not be able to buy movie tickets. Two films - Rock On 2 and Saansein were supposed to release this week, but the latter backed out due to the latest government reform. However, the former stood strong and in fact, has even helped the moviegoers buy tickets. How?

Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar and team Rock On 2 have tied up with online ticket booking site, a mobile app and various multiplex chains like PVR and a few others to ease the pain of the moviegoers. Essentially, the extra money that people had to pay to book through the website or the app has been waived off so that people can book through their credit/debit cards without any extra charges. This way people will be able to book tickets for Rock On 2 without using the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes that they have. Ain't that cool?
