After gaining the momentum on Saturday, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer 3D witnessed a huge jump yesterday and raked in Rs 17.76 crore and now stands with the grand total of Rs 41.23 crore. Looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to cross the Rs 65 crore mark by the end of its opening week.
Directed by Remo D'Souza, Street Dancer 3D talks of the plight of illegal immigrants in the UK, and narrates a story of how rival Indian and Pakistani dance troupes come together to pitch in for the cause. Apart from Varun and Shraddha, the audience have lauded the dance moves of Nora Fatehi. Though she earlier revealed that she was never approached for the film and it was her childhood dream to star in this kind of film. “During the music video shoot of ‘Baby Marwake Maanegi’, which Remo sir was directing, I had decided that I’d ask him to cast me in his next dance film. I even practised in front of the mirror, but couldn’t gather courage. On the third day, I went up to him, blabbered to please cast me in his next and just ran away,” said Nora Fatehi.
On the other hand, Varun earlier said, "When this film was offered to me, Remo D'Souza and (screenwriter) Tushar (Hiranandani) made me watch a documentary on Khalsa Aid, which helps people on Humanitarian grounds with food and shelter, without caste, color or creed biases. So, I would definitely say our film is (made) out of peace and humanity. We have people from India, Nepal and Morocco. We have people from all religions coming together and working on giving a peaceful message. Dance can also be used for peace." The film also features Prabhudeva in a key role. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Lizelle D'Souza. So, have you watched the film? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
