Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's Sui Dhaaga: Made In India has hit the screens today and has received a decent response from the audience at the box office. The film registered the occupancy of around 40 per cent, which is decent enough for a film, which is not a typical commercial entertainer. In fact, the fan-following of Varun and Anushka has helped Sui Dhaaga to get a good start at the ticket windows.
Since the film has received positive reviews across the country, we are expecting Sui Dhaaga to show a good-growth in the evening and night shows. It has received 2500 screens, which is good enough for a film, which primarily targets to multiplex audiences. Apparently, the film has opened better than Varun's and Anushka's last films October and Pari, which is a good news for the lead pair. Looking at the current trend, we are expecting the film to open above Rs 8 crore at the ticket windows on its opening day.
Sui Dhaaga: Made In India should have an opening weekend of above Rs 30 crore, which is extremely good for a genre like this. Vishal Bhardwaj's Pataakha featuring Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover has also hit the screens today but has opened to a low response of 10 per cent. Since it has received rave reviews from the cine goers, we hope the film shows a jump in the second half of the day and earns a respectable total on its first day.
