After the grand success of Creed, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Jordon have collaborated again for the second installment titled Creed 2. The American sports-drama is the eighth film in the Rocky series. While the film has already released in the US yesterday and has garnered glorious reviews, it is scheduled to hit the screens on November 30 in India. Which means it will lock horns with the most expensive Indian venture 2.0, which is releasing on November 29. Now, this clash will definitely affect the business of both the films.
The director of Creed 2, Steven Caple Jr, is confident that the film will be loved by the Indian audience. "I think they (Indians) will be surprised. They will watch a film which is not just about boxing. There is lot of heart in the film, a lot of emotions surrounding these fights." Steven also shared his experience about working with Sylvester and said, "I remember talking to him for the first time and he said that I can't wait to get to Philadelphia so that I can start getting into the Rocky mode. So, I can see him going through this whole transition. He had his ball out, so he walked around with his ball in the hotel room, just getting back to the Rocky mode. And then on the sets, I think he just knows his characters really well. It's just a matter of not standing in his way and giving him just some direction for his scenes. Also, the best of him comes out when he improvises and when he is in the moment. So, I think for me it was just creating an atmosphere for him and whoever was in the scene with him to be comfortable and allow him to do his thing."
While the makers are sure that Creed 2 will perform well, we have a slightly different opinion as maximum screens will be captured by 2.0 and this may hamper the Hollywood film’s collections at the ticket windows. Also, the buzz about Creed 2 has been not as much as the previous movies from the Rocky series.
