Kangana's latest outing is on its way to become the first film of 2015 to enter the Rs 100 crore club domestically...
Aanand L Rai's directorial venture Tanu Weds Manu Returns is currently ruling the box office. The romantic comedy starring Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan has already collected Rs 62.95 crore and that too in just six days. What's more is that the sequel of Tanu Weds Manu has done exceptional business overseas too. In fact, it won't be long before the film enters the Rs 100 crore worldwide. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the updated box office figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, "#TanuWedsManuReturns Fri 8.85 cr, Sat 13.20 cr, Sun 16.10 cr, Mon 8.90 cr, Tue 8.20 cr, Wed 7.70 cr. Total: ₹ 62.95 cr. BLOCKBUSTER."
Coming to the film's overseas collection, well, Tanu Weds Manu Returns till Tuesday had raked in Rs 22 crore. Adarsh had tweeted, "#TanuWedsManuReturns Overseas 5 days [till Tuesday]: Rs 22 cr. SUPERB."
Trade portal Boxofficeindia reported, "Since Diwali last year only big films like Happy New Year and PK have had footfalls and its heartening that a film with limited face value like Tanu Weds Manu Returns scores all over. It also proves if the content is there then even non cast films can score in mass circuits."
With no big releases this week, Kangana starrer will naturally continue to fare well at the box office and will end up raking in big moolah by the end of this week!
