Now its just a matter of time before this Kangana starrer crosses the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide...
Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns is on its way to break few box office records. Directed by Aanand L Rai, this film hit the screens last Friday however it has already collected Rs 95.02 crore worldwide. Now that's a big figure, hai na? Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the the figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social networking site Twitter, "#TanuWedsManuReturns Overseas Week 1 closes at 25 cr. Total worldwide for Week 1 - 95 cr [70.02 cr India & 25 cr Overseas]. FABULOUS."
At the domestic turf, Kangana starrer has already recorded the highest first week collection leaving behind Akshay Kumar's Gabbar Is Back. While Khiladi Kumar's action thriller raked in Rs 59.89 crore in first week, the sequel of Tanu Weds Manu has minted Rs 70.02 crore in the same amount of time which is indeed mighty impressive.
If Aanand L Rai's latest outing continues its golden run at the international box office then I am pretty sure Tanu Weds Manu Returns will end up becoming the highest overseas grosser this year!
