The sequel of Tanu Weds Manu is well on its way to cross the Rs 125 crore mark at the domestic turf...
Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan's second outing together has also turned out to be successful. While Tanu Weds Manu which released back in 2011 had fared well at the box office, its sequel which hit the screens recently has performed even better. Tanu Weds Manu Returns has not only managed to charm the audience in India and abroad but it has also made quite a few records at the box office. After becoming the first film of 2015 to enter the Rs 100 crore club, the Kangana starrer is now looking to surpass the Rs 125 crore mark at the Indian box office. Considering its still pulling in crowd to the cinema halls, it won't be long before this romantic comedy achieves yet another feat at the BO.
Total box office collection in India
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the updated figures a while back. He wrote on the popular social media networking Twitter, "#TanuWedsManuReturns [Week 2] Fri 6.65 cr, Sat 9.40 cr, Sun 12.25 cr, Mon 5.15 cr, Tue 4.65 cr, Wed 4.35 cr. Grand total - 112.52 cr." Adarsh also tweeted,
"#TanuWedsManuReturns should close Week 2 at ₹ 115 cr+ in India. Week 3 should take it 125 cr. BLOCKBUSTER."
What's even more interesting is that the second weekend collection of TWMR is not only the highest in 2015 but its even higher than Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express which had made around 25 crore in its second weekend. As for Aanand L Rai's directorial venture, well, it minted Rs 28.03 crore in it second weekend.
