After having a decent opening week, Vidyut Jammwal and Pooja Sawant starrer Junglee crashed in its second week at the ticket windows. It raked in merely Rs 3.10 crore in the last seven days and now stand with a grand total of Rs 24.30 crore. The film witnessed a dip of more than 70 per cent in its second week and looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the adventure drama to end its theatrical run with around Rs 25 crore, thus making it an average affair.
Due to a moderate budget and pre-release sales, the film has entered the profit zone. The story Junglee revolves around a veterinary doctor Raj (played by Vidyut Jammwal), who returns to his father's elephant reserve to protect the animals. He masters the art of Kalaripayattu to fight the poachers. The film was earlier supposed to be directed by Rohan Sippy but later emerged as the Bollywood directorial debut of Hollywood filmmaker Chuck Russell, who is known for delivering hits like The Mask, Eraser and The Scorpion King.
Talking about preparations for his character in Junglee, Jammwal had earlier said, "As it is a really different film, I had to prepare differently. Junglee is primarily based on forest animals. We had to live in a forest and eat whatever was available there. When you do such films, you need to prepare mentally for these things." The film also stars Asha Bhat, Atul Kulkarni, Makarand Deshpande, Akshay Oberoi and Vishwanath Chatterjee in key roles. Anyway, have you liked the film? Tweet to us @bollywood-life
